Sting to Perform with Peru’s National Orchestra in Lima February 23

Posted by Allison Walters On December 27, 2010

Sting will be performing in Lima, Peru in February 2011, and will be joined by the country’s very own National Symphonic Orchestra, for a night of classical renditions of his biggest hits.

A musical icon and a permanent fixture in pop culture, Sting has been known the world all over for dabbling onto various musical genres, from pop and soft rock with his former band Police, who gave us the hits “Roxanne” and “Every Breath You Take”, to world and jazz beats and this time, to symphonic orchestra.  His repertoire for the night will include hits spanning his career of more than two decades, and will take on a new palette when the Peruvian National Symphonic Orchestra imparts a classical take on his biggest singles and some obscure ones as well.

Peruvian Sting fans can witness this rare show on February 23, 2011 at the Estadio Monumental in Lima.  The same venue also hosted other famous artists like Beyonce, Aerosmith, Paramore, The Black Eyed Peas, Shakira and Green Day.  Tickets for the Sting one-night-only show will be available beginning on December 29, Wednesday via Teleticket booths in Ripley, Wong and Metro outlets.  Ripley stores will offer a 10% discount for patrons with a Ripley card from December 29 to January 4, 2011.  Ticket prices go from $50 to $335.
